What You Can Expect

Our chief concern is to make sure you feel comfortable at Wind Gap Chiropractic. When you first become a patient, our greatest priority is to understand your needs. Dr. Kunkel seeks to work with you together as a team, making sure that all of your needs are fully addressed. We take whatever time is necessary to make each visit productive.

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!

Your First Visit

Chiropractic assistant preforming spinal scan

A computerized scan of the nervous system will be done along with computerized ranges of motion of the neck and low back.

You’ll have some paperwork to fill out, which can also be found online and completed before you arrive. Then, you’ll start a consultation with Dr. Kunkel to go over what has brought you in, discussing your full case history. An examination is next that consists of

  • A thermal scan
  • Range of motion tests
  • Surface electromyography
  • The Pulse Wave Profilerâ„¢

These procedures will help us understand your nervous system function, your spine and how you’re adapting to stress in your environment. X-rays will be taken to fully understand your condition. We feel they’re necessary because you can be unhealthy, yet feel great. For example, heart disease is the #1 killer in America. For 40% of people, the first symptom they’ll have is sudden death. Not experiencing symptoms, however, clearly didn’t mean those people were healthy. X-rays allow us to examine your health in greater detail.

We don’t give a fixed amount of time for this appointment because we don’t want to limit our availability to you. Generally, you can plan on being here for about 45 minutes to an hour.

A Typical Visit

At your regular appointments, we’ll give you an adjustment and any adjunctive therapy services as needed to achieve the best results for you. The length of time you’ll be here depends on what’s needed to address your specific concerns.

Rest assured, however, that you don’t need to go to a chiropractor forever. You can continue seeing us for as long as you want to. You’ll receive Dr. Kunkel’s best recommendations, and the choice to have regular visits is always yours.

We recognize your time is valuable. So we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your schedule.
