What to Expect at Wind Gap Chiropractic Center

You will immediately feel at home the moment you walk in the door.

Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!

The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy.

Your First Visit

Chiropractic assistant preforming spinal scan

As a new patient when you enter our office, you will be greeted by our front desk chiropractic assistant. We ask that you fill out our new patient intake forms, these can also be downloaded and completed prior to your arrival. Once the intake forms are completed you will be escorted to Dr. Kunkel's private office for a consultation. As soon as the consultation is completed you will go to the dressing room to be gowned. Then Dr. Kunkel will take pictures of their spines and a computerized scan of the nervous system will be done along with computerized ranges of motion of the neck and low back. When this is completed you will get dressed and go to the front desk to make a special appointment for their next visit. Plan on spending about 45 minutes to an hour with us on your first visit.

Your Second Visit

Dr. Kunkel explaining x-rays

Upon entering the office for the second visit, you will be greeted by the front desk chiropractic assistant and escorted to Dr. Kunkel's office for, what we refer to as, the report of findings. The computerized scans and pictures taken on the first visit will be explained and shown to you by Dr. Kunkel. He takes this opportunity to explain what he has found and to answer any questions you may have. Once all you questions have been answered your first chiropractic adjustment will be given. This visit will also take approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

A Typical Visit

On a typical office visit you will be adjusted and if there are any therapies to be administered that will also be done. This procedure can take anywhere from ten to thirty minutes.

After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. But don’t think the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we can quickly size up the condition of your spine and nervous system, adjust you and get you on your way.

We recognize your time is valuable. So we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your schedule.

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
Can a chiropractor heal?
There's never been a case in which a doctor (chiropractor or otherwise) has formed scar tissue, mended a broken bone or cured a headache. Only you can do that. Turns out you're the doctor! All I do is help remove interferences to your body's healing ability. Ready to get started? Call our office today.
